Etter Studio is a truly interdisciplinary design and communication consultancy, based in Zurich.
The combination of large commercial projects and small independent productions creates
the perfect balance and keeps us happy. As diverse as our work so are our clients. Here’s

There is this notion that large companies stand for sophistication, success, security.
We think of them more like collateral risk.
Technological progress creates an ever complex and more rapidly spinning world. Therefore we believe
that the future belongs to either small specialized companies, operating in loosely organized
networks – or to mega corporations, since they have the necessary dimensions to be efficient and
flexible within themselves. Medium to large sized companies will not be able to compete with small
fluid businesses and self-sufficient mega corporations.
Etter Studio is one of these small companies, with no intentions to grow.
This doesn't mean we can't take care of large projects; we just do it differently from traditional companies.
Our projects are diverse and require a broad range of skills. For each project we form a team of
trusted specialists and companies to execute them. They might work from our office in Zurich, but could
just as well be in Tokyo, London or Amsterdam.
This allows Etter Studio to continue to work with the best people in their respective fields and offer our clients
services of superior quality, while our lean company structure allows us
to operate efficiently. This is how we want to work – we like diversity, collaboration and craft.
Etter Studio is a privately owned limited liability company (Ltd) registered in Zurich, Switzerland.

Etter Studio was founded by Chrigi Etter to bring his
work activities under one roof.
Chrigi was growing up in Zurich
where he studied precise Swiss typography. By the age of twenty he founded his first company, an interactive design studio,
while teaching classes in interactive design and film editing at the Zurich University of Arts and Design.
Later, he closed his studio down and started to work as a counsellor for children at the skateboard
recreation centre in Lausanne. He then continued counselling in Bogotá, this time with sexually
exploited children.
When returning to Switzerland he worked as a multimedia producer in Bern before settling in Milan
as art director for Saatchi & Saatchi, after being awarded with their International Young Creative Talent Award.
Then he joined the visual communications department of Fabrica, the communications centre of
United Colors of Benetton, located near Venice, where he continued working as consultant.
He then left Italy and moved to London to work as an interactive director for Unit9,
a digital production company.
In 2007 he was invited to join the advisory board of Design21, a social design network by Felissimo
and UNESCO, based in New York City.
In 2010 Chrigi Etter founded a work collective in an old window factory on the hills of Zurich and called it Fensterfabrik.
Nowadays, aside from running Etter Studio, Chrigi continues working as interactive
director for Unit9 in London.
We are flattered to receive frequently spontanious job applications by extremly talented people from around the world.
Unfortunatly we are not looking to grow in size or numbers. And whenever there is no way around it, and we
have to hire, then we are posting the job position on this page and on our Twitter account.
