Himalaya – Changing Landscapes Photo Exhibition Draws Attention to Global Climate Change, 1 – 12 June 2009, Bonn
The Himalaya – Changing Landscapes photo exhibition resumed its European tour in Germany. The fifth exhibition was organised in Bonn, Germany, from 1-12 June 2009 in conjunction with the UNFCCC climate change conference.

New photos have been added to the concept of the Himalaya – Changing Landscapes. The repeat mountain panoramas, photos of the 1950s glacial research teams, and portraits of Himalayan people were accompanied by additional repeat photographs of landscapes from the mid hills of Nepal. New repeat people photos have also been added, as well as pictures of cultural and socioeconomic changes in the Himalayan region within the last few decades. The new concept has made the exhibition richer and more extensive. The location, Robert Schuman Platz, was near the hotel where the UNFCCC conference was held and on the way to many side events.
The exhibition drew significant interest from conference participants and employees of nearby German ministries. The exhibition emphasising the resilience of mountain people in coping with these changes and was well covered in both local and international media.
